 Warwickshire Dent-Technique franchisee Gary Parkes had always been interested in cars so when a paintless dent removal specialist visited the car showroom in which he was working, Garry was intrigued by what he saw.   “I knew quite a bit about cars having worked in the industry since leaving school” Gary explained, “but it was whilst working as a used car salesmen that I came across the paintless dent removal technique. I was amazed by their skill in taking a damaged car and making it look like new.”  Fed up with working long hours and weekends Gary decided it was time to strike a better balance between his work and home life which would enable him to spend more time with his young family. This became more apparent when a cusomer came to us with the dent you see on the car above!

The poor chap had only owned the car 2 days, he had saved up & bought himself an Alfa Romeo 147 in bright red and it arrived just days before his freind’s wedding so he was over the moon he could show off his new pride & joy.

When they arrived a the reception he decided to park his brand new car well out the way of everyone else to prevent it from possibility of being damaged. But what he did’nt realise was he had parked it near to a ‘cooking apple tree’!

During the night the weather had taken a turn for the worse & strong winds came in, dislodging a large & heavy apple from the top of the tree, throwing straight on to his brand new car, as you can imagine the owner has very upset! much to his friends amusement. 

That morning he call Dent Technique, managed to get hold of one of our paintless dent removal techs whom arranged a meeting with customer, arranged an appointment for the next day, the customer left the  car with us, we removed his dent without using any paint or fillers & restored it back to it’s orginal condition.

Glynn Lewin became a Dent-Technique franchisee for the Nottingham area after he decided a new challenge in his working life was needed.  A chance meeting whilst having his own car repaired introduced Glynn to franchising, “I discovered Dent-Technique when talking with one of their technicians during a car repair visit,” Glynn said.  “I was amazed by the standard of the repair and the technician raved about the franchise,” he continued.

With a little knowledge of franchising he took to the World Wide Web to gain further knowledge. “I knew a little about franchising and did some further detailed research.” Glynn explained.  “I’d always had an interest in cars and decided to find out what was available in my area.”  He considered being self-employed and like many prospective new business owners, he had some reservations but liked the support network offered by becoming a member of a growing franchise network.He soon realised that he needed to make changes to his lifestyle to afford the initial outlay.  Being made redundant at the age of 42 may be daunting for most people but for Warrington Dent-Technique franchise holder Alan Gribben, it gave him the incentive he needed to change career direction and run his own business. After 12 years behind the wheel of an HGV, Alan found himself in a situation that provided him with the ideal time in which to make a positive change. “I’d always had plans to be my own boss one day,” said Alan, “I decided that I wasn’t going to let my redundancy situation get me down and started thinking how I was going to use the redundancy money as financial backing for my new career.”Whilst Alan knew a little about franchising, Internet research and industry magazines provided further information on exactly how it worked and what business opportunities were available. “I am really fanatical about cars so my first point of call was to find something in this field,” continued Alan, “I searched high and low for something that would suit me and gathered lots of information but was particularly drawn to paintless dent removal. Not another accident in one of the ‘Dent Mobiles’ , this time it was’nt our fault, Nathan(dent removal tech in Leicester) had borrowed  Paul’s van for the day whilst his was in for a routine service and on his way back to our office to hand it back to Paul an Artic lorry went all down the offside with his trailer and pushed Nathan into the grass verge!
