 Warwickshire Dent-Technique franchisee Gary Parkes had always been interested in cars so when a paintless dent removal specialist visited the car showroom in which he was working, Garry was intrigued by what he saw.   “I knew quite a bit about cars having worked in the industry since leaving school” Gary explained, “but it was whilst working as a used car salesmen that I came across the paintless dent removal technique. I was amazed by their skill in taking a damaged car and making it look like new.”  Fed up with working long hours and weekends Gary decided it was time to strike a better balance between his work and home life which would enable him to spend more time with his young family. He started to explore what options were available to him.”I knew a little about franchising and liked the idea of having the backing of a business model that was already in place,” Gary explained. “I also knew the importance of brand identity which was why franchising appealed to me rather than heading down the self employed route,” he continued Having decided that franchising was the preferred option, Gary then researched what opportunities were available in the Warwickshire area. “I did look at a number of companies but either the investment was too high or they were very hard sell.” Gary would recall his previous experience of seeing the paintless dent removal technicians at work, which led him to explore Dent-Technique further. “I was so impressed by Dent-Technique as they offered the whole package from training through to corporate clothing. The organisation is very professional and the website generates additional business.” Since opening his franchise in May 2008, Gary has seen his business grow through repeat business and referrals from satisfied customers. He said, “I really enjoy owning my own franchise and I’m really keen to grow the business. I work hard during the week, and unlike my previous jobs, I have time at the weekend to relax with my family.”
