A CHANCE MEETING PROVIDES NEW CHALLENGE

 

Glynn Lewin became a Dent-Technique franchisee for the Nottingham area after he decided a new challenge in his working life was needed.  A chance meeting whilst having his own car repaired introduced Glynn to franchising, “I discovered Dent-Technique when talking with one of their technicians during a car repair visit,” Glynn said.  “I was amazed by the standard of the repair and the technician raved about the franchise,” he continued.

With a little knowledge of franchising he took to the World Wide Web to gain further knowledge. “I knew a little about franchising and did some further detailed research.” Glynn explained.  “I’d always had an interest in cars and decided to find out what was available in my area.”  He considered being self-employed and like many prospective new business owners, he had some reservations but liked the support network offered by becoming a member of a growing franchise network.He soon realised that he needed to make changes to his lifestyle to afford the initial outlay. Although cautious, he was also well aware of the rewards that could be achieved. Glynn obtained a Dent-Technique information pack and a subsequent meeting with owner Paul Phillips confirmed that Dent-Technique was the correct choice.  “I’d looked at other vehicle repair and valeting franchises but the initial investment was too expensive,” Glynn said. “Dent-Technique offered a far better return.“There were other aspects that really appealed to me, including the intensive training both before I launched and ongoing. I didn’t particularly want to relocate and was fortunate that the Nottingham franchise was available.”Glynn opened his franchise in May, 2008.  He says: “Now that I’m my own boss I know that the success of the business is down to me and that has certainly made me more focused.  I know that it won’t be plain sailing but that’s the challenge and with my hard work, and Paul’s support, I’m confident that I can grow the business.“Twelve months ago I could have not envisaged having my own business and reaping the rewards of my own efforts.”
