Recently I had a call a call from a young guy in Northampton who owns this BMW Z4. He told me a disturbingly common story of someone kicking his car outside his house. Fortunately (if you can call it that) when this happens 9 out of 10 times the paintwork will not be damaged. Also the advantage on this particular car is that it has a single skin rear quarter which makes it easier for me to work and get the panel back its original condition 100%. With this particular dent it had managed to crease / bulge the top of the panel which I managed to repair and it did not simply “pop out” as some owners do try themselves. My advice is always leave the dent alone because tampering can make it unrepairable or a lot more work for the PDR technician which will mean a bigger bill.

For the repair on this car I charged the customer £150 + VAT which he was very pleased with, considering his excess was £450!  He won’t be having a price hike at renewal time or any associated problems with leaving your car with a bodyshop, and his car still has the original paint.

Working day to day in this job you can come across some rather nice exotic and classic cars but as the pictures will show this is definately a first for me!! Andy the proud driver of this massive Scania regularly attends shows and events in his highly polished and immaculate lorry, so you can imagine the frustration when he managed to catch his door and put a dent in it. Knowing that I could remove the dent without a problem, I had to set about getting near it! After some head scratching I ended up perched on a pallet of drinks working away.
